So it goes, summer turns to fall; fall to winter. We use these months as a time for insulation, hibernation, and, just perhaps, procrastination.
Many of us love the Spring. A time to open the doors wide and let fresh air fill our stuffy places. A time to seek out dust and dirt, as opposed to letting it lie. Actually, it’s a time that we see the grime that has piled up around us. A time for us to recognize the culmination of months of inactivity or collecting. Spring is, by nature, a time to get to work!
Some think the fall and winter months allow us to do just the opposite – to work less on the things around us every day. No one will notice. No one is coming over to my home anyway. But, while that may be true, it may be so only for dusty furniture, two car garages stuffed with hobbies, and untouched windowsill corners.
For individuals and those who are in relationships, fall and winter are the seasons that provide a great time to get to work! This is the perfect time to tackle a project, clean out the closet, and air out the room. Too many people use this time to contract, at the very time when we can expand our relationships and our personal reach. This time can be one of cleansing and renewal.
I would recommend you use this time to your advantage. Work on your self. Work on your relationship. Clean up your emotional house. Throw out negative trash. Brighten up the world around you. Certainly you have the time – you obviously won’t be working so much around the house!
And just think, by the time you get to next spring and summer, your emotional home will be in order. Just in time to work on the yard!
